As many of you know, my mom loves to sew. Not only does she love it and enjoy it but she is very good at it. She is very talented! She sews Addison, Nick, Juan, and me things all the time. She has also decided to take up quilting thanks to Auntie The Great!
I was searching the internet looking for mickey shirt/dress ideas for Addison for disneyworld and her birthday when I found what is called a pillowcase dress. I looked at the dress and right away I said my mom can make this and she does not even need a pattern. So one of her projects since I have been visiting has been to create this dress. We ventured off to JoAnne's to collect the fabric and the "pattern" my mom insisted that she needed the pattern. Well the pattern was all sold out so she gets on the phone with her long time pal Brenda and she convinces her that she does not need the pattern and the "how to" is found on the internet. These are her creations....she said she needed practice before she made the Minnie birthday dress!
Addison has enjoyed spending time with Gammy in her sewing room learning to iron, sew, cut, and sort fabric and buttons. These are small moments that add to little stitches in cherished time!
Not bad for no pattern! She is the BEST!
