Home From Hospital

Okay...so we leave for the hospital at 9:45 a.m. getting ready to have a c-section to deliver our new baby girl. Dr. Forest, Newman, and Fadool all agree that this procedure needed to be done so I went for it...I wanted what was best for her. They said she was too big because of my gestational diabetes and that her shoulders would have a hard time fitting threw as well...this was my first and I went with what the experts said!

They preped me for surgery telling me the pro and cons....asking me the same 20 questions from 6 different people. But I was scheduled at noon and by golly I went in right at noon...can you believe it! A hospital is never that punctual! So I had the spinal anesthesia and 21 minutes later we had our beautiful baby girl Addison Rae...I was nervious thinking that I would not be able to have that immediate reaction because I was in surgery...however, I heard her cry and the minute she cried so did Mama! It was the most amazing feeling I will never forget! Oh so Special!

So Juan got to go and see and do all the fun stuff while I had to get all stitched back up so I could hold my new little girl. Addison Rae weight 8 lbs. 6 oz and was 19.5 inches long. I was able to do so many firsts in that room still although I was numb from the waist down. I learned to feed her, we held her, family got to visit her, and then....they came in to do the two hour tests and said that they needed to keep her in the nursery but we could visit and so could the Grandparents. Addison's breathing was too fast due to fluid in her lungs because she was not squeezed out of the birth canal. Addison was taken really good care of by three fabulous nurses Joanie, Melissa, and Marlena....She was the nursery favorite she never cried for silly things only when she needed something and she was a strong girl and did not cry everytime they poked her foot or stuck her with a needle. She was great! They loved her....but that is a secret....she even had a special nametag that no one else had!

Finally she was able to come to our room after 48 hours of watch. And on the following day we were able to to come. We have been home for a little over 24 hours and she is a wonderful baby....

She eats...then sleeps for 3-4 hours...we change her diaper and repeat the cycle. Well, we do more than that but that is the basics. She loves to be sung to...Grammy even has a special song for her that she loves to hear over the phone everyday! Addison loves her Grammy! Grammy helped her Mommy a lot! Thanks Mom!

Well, I think that this has went on long enough....Enjoy our new little bundle of joy in these pictures!<

  1. She is adorable! So glad to hear you both are doing well. That's good she's sleeping 3-4 hours already. Take advantage and get as much rest as you can while she naps.
Can't wait to meet her! Congrats!
